ALL ABOUT SAUNA

PRINCIPLE OF THE SAUNA EVENT

Sauna relies on the interaction between hot and cold.
It is about alternating hot and cold in such a way that it is as pleasant and healthy for the body as possible.
In a sauna, and outside, sweating is a natural reaction of the body to dissipate heat, say: to cool down.
The body temperature always fluctuates around 39°C, even if it is much warmer in the sauna.

Development of heat in the sauna

The big difference in experiencing heat in a sauna is usually in the humidity. For example, a dry sauna of 70° Celsius is quite tolerable, while a steam bath of 50° Celsius is experienced as very hot. In the sauna itself, the difference in temperature can also be quite large. Heat rises, which means that it is a lot warmer on the top bench than it is low to the ground. Did you know that the difference in measured temperature between the floor and ceiling can be as much as 40°C? In most saunas you will see benches in different levels, so that as a guest you can play around with the desired temperature.
Those who prefer the highest bench would still do well to move to a lower bench during the last minutes of the sauna session.
This way, the temperature difference when leaving the sauna is less.

Cooling down: a necessity

During sweating in the sauna, the heat is absorbed mainly by the skin and outer organs, increasing blood flow.
During cooling down, this unnecessary heat is, as it were, washed away.
Very important, because this further stimulates the body’s circulation.
This not only gives a fresh feeling, but also strengthens your resistance.

Naked or in swimwear?

Do you want to spa naked or in bathing suits?
This is solid topic of conversation among sauna goers.
The thing is, those who wear bathing suits somewhat block the shedding of sweat.
Moreover, sweat collects in the bathing suit or trunks even after showering, and then the skin can irritate.
Therefore, those who see fit would do well to cure naked anyway.

But, then, why can you cure in bathing attire at many wellness centers?
For some people, it makes the step to the sauna much smaller.
And, because we believe in the endless list of health benefits of heat and cold therapy, we want to be able to share them with as many people as possible.
By the way, did you know that a lot of people decide to wellness naked afterwards anyway?
