SAUNA AND HEALTH
PREGNANT TO ... THE SAUNA
In the sauna, it is normal to sweat.
If you have taken a shower with soap and water beforehand, you certainly do not smell, it is just moisture that you lose.
Showering removes bacteria from your body, and it is those bacteria that cause the unpleasant odor.
Therefore, upon entering the sauna center, a shower is absolutely mandatory before starting a round of sauna.
A shower is also mandatory after each toilet use, for the same hygienic reasons.
Drying off well after the shower ensures that foul odors have no chance at all.
SWEATING, A NATURAL REACTION IN THE SAUNA.
Sweating is normal, it is a reaction of the body.
In this way, it tries to cope with the sudden heat.
The body’s average temperature is about 37°C. When the ambient temperature suddenly rises (or, for example, during strenuous sporting activity), the body gets very hot.
The body consists mostly of water; by sweating, this water evaporates and the body returns to a normal temperature.
In the sauna, it is important that the entire body rests on a towel.
Therefore, in the sitting position, the feet should also be on the towel.
In this way it is avoided that the wooden benches are completely soaked by sweat.
