ALL ABOUT SAUNA
SAUNA SOAKING SESSIONS
Opgiet or 'Aufguss'
A soaking session is one of the most relaxing experiences you can have.
A sauna master (or ascension master) enters the sauna with you and pours a special mixture of water and essential oil on the stones.
In this way, not only is a wonderful fragrance spread, but also water vapor.
The gargoyle waves a towel, blowing away the insulating layer of air around your body.
This gives an extra warm feeling and it is even so special that, despite the hot feeling, it can give you goose bumps.
After the session, you experience a tranquility like never before.
In short, anyone who has never experienced a hot tub session should absolutely try it!
Hygiene
During a soaking session, your whole body should be on a towel, including your feet as you sit.
This way you avoid your sweat penetrating the wooden benches.
After the make-up session, a shower is mandatory before entering the pool, jacuzzi or other sauna.
Safety
No matter how good a casting session is for your body, not everyone may be admitted.
For example, people with pacemakers, epileptics or pregnant women may not attend a casting session.
Do you suffer from an illness and do you doubt whether this ritual is suitable for you?
Please consult your doctor.
Safety above all!
Additional advice
- The highest bench is the warmest.
If you’re too hot, move to a bench lower as well or leave the sauna if necessary. - Cooling down after the sauna session is very important.
Cooling down starts with a cold air bath; a short walk in the open air.
Breathe in and out well, this way your lungs get fresh air.
Next, take a cold shower.
In doing so, start with your feet and finish by cooling your head.
Anyone who does it the other way around runs the risk of having a headache.
Then go into the cold plunge bath and finally unwind with a warm foot bath.
The idea is to wait at least half an hour before re-entering the sauna.
