Competition Terms and Conditions – National Sauna Week 2026
Article 1 – Organiser
The “National Sauna Week 2026” competition, hereinafter referred to as the “Competition”, is organised by Saunavereniging België VZW, with its registered office at Killestraat 6B – 9220 Moerzeke, Belgium, and registered with the Belgian Crossroads Bank for Enterprises under number 0844.913.253, hereinafter referred to as the “Organiser”.
The Competition is organised in collaboration with Nordic Info BV, Steenhuffeldorp 14 – 1840 Steenhuffel, Belgium, BE0898.125.968, which provides the grand prize, and the 19 participating wellness centres, which provide the additional wellness prizes. The list of participating centres can be found at https://svb.be/en/national-sauna-week/. Questions about the Competition can be sent to info@svb.be with the subject line “National Sauna Week 2026”.
Article 2 – Applicability
These Competition Terms and Conditions govern participation in and the conduct of the Competition.
By validly submitting the entry form, the participant declares that they:
These Competition Terms and Conditions are available free of charge throughout the entire Competition Period at https://svb.be/en/competition-terms-and-conditions.
Article 3 – Competition Period
The Competition runs from Monday 14 September 2026 up to and including Friday 18 September 2026, during the applicable visitor and opening hours of each participating wellness centre. The entry form must be completed and definitively submitted during this Competition Period. Entries received before the start or after the end of the Competition Period are invalid.
Article 4 – Participating Wellness Centres
The Competition takes place at the 19 wellness centres listed on the Competition page. During the Competition Period, each participating wellness centre will provide a location-specific QR code. This QR code gives access to the official entry form and ensures that the wellness centre visited is automatically registered. The participant is eligible to win sauna admission prizes at the wellness centre where they participate.
Article 5 – Who Can Participate?
The Competition is open to individuals who:
The following persons are excluded from participation:
The Organiser may verify the identity, age and place of residence of a potential winner before awarding a prize.
Article 6 – Valid Visit
Participation is only possible following a valid visit to a participating wellness centre during the Competition Period. A valid visit may take place using:
Any payment made relates solely to admission to and the services provided by the wellness centre. No separate fee is charged for participation in the Competition. The QR code is made available on-site only. Participation without a valid visit, using a copied or unauthorised shared QR code, or by providing incorrect information is not permitted. In the event of reasonable doubt, the Organiser or the wellness centre visited may verify whether a valid visit actually took place.
Article 7 – How to Participate
To validly participate, the participant must, during the Competition Period:
The participant may also voluntarily subscribe to:
Separate consent is requested for each newsletter through an unticked checkbox. Subscription to a newsletter is not required to participate in the Competition and has no influence on the chances of winning a prize.
You may unsubscribe from either newsletter separately, at any time and free of charge, using the unsubscribe link at the bottom of each edition. Withdrawing your consent to receive a newsletter has no effect on your participation in the Competition.
Your Competition data will not be shared with other affiliated wellness centres. Your name and email address will only be shared with the wellness centre where you participated, for the management of the Competition and the redemption of any sauna prizes you may win. Only where you have given separate consent may that wellness centre also use your details to send its newsletter.
All required fields must be completed fully and truthfully. Incomplete, illegible, incorrect, fraudulent, manipulated or late entries are invalid. Participation is personal and an entry may not be submitted on behalf of another person.
Article 8 – One Entry per Person
Each person may participate no more than once per calendar day during the Competition Period, regardless of which wellness centre is visited that day. As the Competition lasts five days, a person may register a maximum of five valid entries during the entire Competition Period.
A participant may participate at the same wellness centre on different days. A participant may also participate at different participating wellness centres on different days, provided that for each entry they actually make a valid visit to the wellness centre for which that entry is registered.
Each valid entry:
By validly participating on multiple days, a participant increases their chance of winning a prize. However, each person may win a maximum of one prize during the entire Competition, regardless of the number of valid entries, wellness centres visited or positions in the overall and local rankings.
If a person submits more than one entry form on the same calendar day, only the first valid entry registered on that day will be retained. All later entries submitted by that person on the same calendar day will be excluded, even if they were registered at another wellness centre.
The Organiser may verify compliance with this participation limit on the basis of, among other things, surname, first name, date of birth, email address, registered wellness centre, date and time of participation and relevant technical data.
Article 9 – Competition Question
The Competition question is:
In addition to Russia, Lapland extends across three countries in Northern Europe. Which countries are they?
The possible answers are:
Only participants who answer the Competition question correctly are eligible for a prize.
Article 10 – Tie-Breaker Question
The tie-breaker question is:
How many valid entries will be registered during National Sauna Week from 14 to 18 September 2026 across all 19 participating wellness centres?
A valid entry means an entry form that is fully completed and definitively received during the Competition Period and complies with all provisions of these Competition Terms and Conditions.
Each valid entry is counted separately. If a person validly participates on different calendar days, each entry is included separately in the official total number. In the event of multiple entries by the same person on the same calendar day, only the first registered entry will be retained.
The Organiser reserves the right to reject entries that are incomplete, late, fraudulent, manipulated or excluded for any other valid reason.
After the end of the Competition Period, the Organiser will determine the final total number of valid entries based on the data in the entry system. This official number will be dated and recorded internally before the winners are determined. The same official total number will be used for both the overall ranking for the grand prize and the local rankings for the sauna prizes at each participating wellness centre.
Article 11 – Determination of the Winners
Only valid entries for which the Competition question was answered correctly are eligible for a prize.
Each eligible entry will be ranked according to the absolute difference between:
The entry with the smallest absolute difference will be ranked highest. An estimate above or below the official total will be assessed in the same way.
Example:
Overall Ranking for the Grand Prize
One overall ranking will be drawn up for the Nordic travel voucher, including all eligible entries from the 19 participating wellness centres.
If a person has validly participated on multiple calendar days, each valid entry from that person will be included separately in the overall ranking. This increases the participant’s chance of winning the grand prize.
The highest-ranked valid entry across all participating wellness centres wins the Nordic travel voucher worth €1,250.
If two or more entries have the same absolute difference, the entry that was first fully and definitively registered by the entry system will be ranked higher. No random draw or lottery will take place.
Local Rankings for the Sauna Prizes
A separate local ranking will be drawn up for each participating wellness centre. This ranking will only contain valid entries registered through the location-specific QR code of that wellness centre.
For each local ranking, the answer to the tie-breaker question will also be compared with the official total number of valid entries across all 19 participating wellness centres.
The local sauna prizes will be awarded according to this ranking to the highest-ranked participants of the relevant wellness centre. A participant may only win a sauna prize from a wellness centre where they validly participated.
If a person validly participated at the same wellness centre on different calendar days, each valid entry will be included separately in that centre’s local ranking.
Here too, if two or more entries within the same local wellness centre have the same absolute difference, the entry that was first fully and definitively registered by the entry system will be ranked higher. No random draw or lottery will take place.
Maximum of One Prize per Person
Each person may win a maximum of one prize during the entire Competition.
The Nordic travel voucher will be awarded first. Once the winner of the Nordic travel voucher has been determined, all other entries from that person will be excluded from the local distributions of sauna admission prizes at each wellness centre.
The local sauna prizes will then be awarded according to the local rankings. If a participant ranks for a sauna prize at the same or multiple locations, only their earliest validly registered entry will be retained for the award of their final prize. The next available prize will then be awarded to the next participant in the relevant local ranking who has not yet won a prize.
If a person would qualify for a prize more than once on the basis of different entries within the same local ranking, they will only receive the first prize to which they are entitled under that ranking. Their remaining entries will then be removed from the further prize distribution.
The Organiser’s decisions regarding the validity of entries, the official number of valid entries and the overall and local rankings are final, except in the event of a demonstrable material or technical error.
Article 12 – Grand Prize
The grand prize consists of one Nordic travel voucher worth €1,250, to be used for booking a trip to Scandinavia from Nordic’s travel offering. The precise conditions of use of the travel voucher are determined by Nordic and communicated to the winner.
Unless Nordic determines otherwise in writing:
Article 13 – Local Sauna Prizes
In addition to the grand prize, the 19 participating wellness centres provide complimentary day admissions and any other wellness prizes with a combined commercial value of more than €30,000. Each wellness centre distributes its own sauna prizes exclusively among participants who validly participated at that same wellness centre during the Competition Period.
Each valid entry gives the participant a chance to win:
A participant who validly participates on multiple calendar days will be included separately with each valid entry in both the overall ranking and the applicable local ranking.
A participant has no chance of winning sauna prizes from wellness centres where they did not validly participate, regardless of their position compared with the answers of participants at those other wellness centres.
Each person may win a maximum of one prize during the entire Competition. Once a participant has won a prize, all their other entries will be excluded from further prize distribution.
Unless expressly stated otherwise:
If an announced prize is no longer available due to circumstances beyond the reasonable control of the Organiser, it may be replaced by an equivalent prize from the same wellness centre.
Article 14 – Contacting the Winners
Potential winners will be contacted no later than 1 October 2026 via the email address provided when entering. A potential winner must respond within fourteen calendar days after the message is sent and provide the information reasonably requested.
If a potential winner:
their entitlement to the prize lapses.
The prize will then be offered to the next validly ranked participant.
Article 15 – Delivery and Use of the Prizes
The winner of the Nordic travel voucher will be contacted by the Organiser and/or Nordic. Winners of the local sauna prizes will be contacted by the Organiser or by the wellness centre where they validly participated. Local sauna prizes will be delivered digitally, by post or directly by the relevant wellness centre.
Article 16 – Newsletter Subscriptions
Subscription to a newsletter is entirely voluntary and is not a condition for participation in the Competition. Whether or not a participant subscribes to a newsletter has no influence on the validity of an entry, the ranking or the chance of winning a prize.
The participant may separately consent to:
A separate, unticked checkbox will be used for each newsletter. The sender and type of communication will be clearly stated for each checkbox. A participant may consent to both newsletters, one newsletter or neither.
The participant may withdraw their consent separately, easily and free of charge at any time using the unsubscribe link in the relevant newsletter or by contacting the relevant sender. Withdrawal of consent has no effect on the validity of the entry or the entitlement to any prize won.
Personal data will not be used for other direct marketing purposes without a valid legal basis.
Article 17 – Processing of Personal Data
Saunavereniging België acts as the data controller for the personal data collected for the organisation and conduct of the Competition.
The Organiser processes, among other things:
These data are processed for:
Processing of Competition data is necessary for the conduct of the Competition in accordance with these Competition Terms and Conditions. Data processed for security and fraud prevention may additionally be processed on the basis of the Organiser’s legitimate interest in ensuring that the Competition is conducted fairly and securely. Newsletter data are processed solely on the basis of the participant’s separate consent.
Competition data will be retained for up to six months after the final award of all prizes, unless longer retention is necessary due to a legal obligation or an ongoing complaint or dispute.
Data necessary for the seasonal newsletter of Saunavereniging België will be retained until the participant withdraws their consent or until the newsletter service is discontinued.
Where a participant separately consents to the newsletter of the wellness centre visited, the necessary data, such as name, email address, registration date and proof of consent, will be shared with that wellness centre. The relevant wellness centre acts as a separate data controller for its own newsletter.
Where a participant participates at multiple wellness centres on different days, their newsletter data will only be shared with the wellness centres for which they have given separate consent. Participation at a wellness centre does not in itself mean that the centre may use the participant’s data for newsletters or other direct marketing purposes.
Where a participant wins a local sauna prize, the personal data necessary to award, deliver or redeem the prize may be shared with the wellness centre providing that prize.
Competition data will not be shared with wellness centres where the participant did not validly participate, unless this is necessary to comply with a legal obligation. Data may be processed by technical service providers acting on behalf of Saunavereniging België. Where required, appropriate data processing agreements will be concluded with these parties.
Article 18 – Participants’ Rights
Under the conditions of the General Data Protection Regulation, participants may request:
A request may be sent to info@svb.be. The Organiser may request additional information to verify the identity of the applicant. Participants may also lodge a complaint with the Belgian Data Protection Authority via www.gegevensbeschermingsautoriteit.be.
Article 19 – Publication of Winners
A winner’s name, image, place of residence or testimonial will not be published for promotional purposes without their separate consent. A winner is not required to participate in photography, video, advertising communications or social media publications in order to receive their prize. If a winner agrees to this, the intended use, channels and duration of use will be communicated in advance.
Article 20 – Fraud and Misuse
It is prohibited to use:
In the event of reasonable suspicion of fraud or misuse, the Organiser may:
Article 21 – Technical Problems and Force Majeure
The Organiser is not liable for temporary unavailability of the entry form, network failures, technical errors, incorrect or delayed data transmission or other problems beyond its reasonable control. Where the Competition cannot be continued fairly and securely due to fraud, technical problems, force majeure, a legal obligation or other exceptional circumstances, the Organiser may suspend, amend, extend or terminate the Competition. Material changes will be communicated via the Competition page as soon as possible. Valid entries already submitted will be retained where reasonably possible.
Article 22 – Liability
Within the limits of applicable law, the Organiser is not liable for damage arising from:
This limitation does not apply in cases of fraud, wilful misconduct, gross negligence or where liability cannot be excluded under applicable law.
Article 23 – Complaints
Complaints about the Competition must be submitted in writing no later than thirty calendar days after the announcement of the winners via info@svb.be or by post to the Organiser’s address.
The complaint must contain at least:
The Organiser will deal with each complaint within a reasonable period.
Article 24 – Amendments
The Organiser may amend these conditions where this is necessary due to legal, technical or organisational circumstances, provided that the legitimate interests of participants are not disproportionately affected.
Material amendments will be announced via the Competition page, together with the date on which the amended conditions take effect.
The Organiser decides on the validity of entries. Where these Competition Terms and Conditions, the Competition page, the entry form or other communication about the Competition contains unclear, incomplete or demonstrably incorrect information, the Organiser reserves the right to clarify or correct this information, both before and after entries have been registered. Such clarifications or corrections may not arbitrarily alter the essential conditions of the Competition and will be applied in a reasonable, transparent and equal manner to all participants concerned. Material clarifications and corrections will be announced via the Competition page as soon as possible. The Organiser’s decisions are final, except in the event of a demonstrable material or technical error and without prejudice to participants’ mandatory rights.
Article 25 – Applicable Law and Jurisdiction
The Competition and these Competition Terms and Conditions are governed by Belgian law. Disputes fall within the jurisdiction of the courts competent under Belgian law. This provision does not affect consumers’ mandatory statutory rights. If any provision is declared wholly or partly invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in full force and effect.
